Meditate at RTW
There are many ways to meditate at Roots to Wings, whether it be seated, walking or moving.  Our meditation influences stem from a long list of teachings and teachers and spiritual masters who have inspired us over the years. While our meditation influences are rooted in lineages, our offerings span many great teachings.  If you have questions about this please ask us.

Meditation Sangha: Sitting in silent meditation, the sangha holds the space for wellness and well-being in ourselves, our fellow members and our community. Together we connect with and maintain awareness while offering compassion and kindness to those around us. The sangha offers a place of support, safety and strength as we learn and grow alongside fellow walkers of the path. Cost is by donation or covered by your membership.  Facilitated by Arleen Damon on Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:30am-9am and Saturdays 8:00-8:30am.

7 Week Meditation Series with Susan Patten Tuesdays November 6-December 18, 7-8pm.  Cost $94.50 (Drop-in $15)

Meditation can take many forms, but to practice with a group, with a shared intention, allows access to its benefits more quickly and to a more profound degree.  Allow yourself an hour to sit quietly and listen to your own deeper knowing, enjoying greater relaxation, wellness and peace.  The class will include some guided meditation and instruction in posture and mindfulness.  Beginners and seasoned meditators welcome.

Susan Patten is an acupuncturist and owner of Newburyport Acupuncture.  She has been teaching meditation and holistic health practices to her patients and to the larger Newburyport community since 2002.  Susan has a background in Vipassana or Insight Meditation and has been practicing with a meditation teacher since 1990.

Half Day Silent Meditation Retreat with Susan Patten
Sunday, December 16, 9am-12pm
This event will be spent in silence, except for brief guided meditations, readings, and sharing of your experience.
The morning will include three, 45 minute meditations. (9-9:45 15 minute break, 10-10:45 15 minute break, 11-11:45 end with questions, feedback and tea). Please arrive a few minutes early to set up your sitting area.
Students are welcome to use our beautiful meditation room located on the 2nd floor next to the main practice room before and after classes when the room is not being used.  A partial list of the teachers and teachings who have inspired us include Geshe Lama Ahbay Tulku Rinpoche, Lama Migmar Tenzin, Lama Marut, Chun Shim nim, Thich Nhat Hanh and Swami Kripalu.
