There are many ways to meditate at Roots to Wings, whether it be seated, walking or moving.  Our meditation influences stem from a long list of teachings and teachers and spiritual masters who have inspired us over the years. While our meditation influences are rooted in lineages, our offerings span many great teachings.  If you have questions about this please ask us.

Open Sit Meditation with Arleen Damon is offered every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 8:30am - 9am.

8 Week Meditation Series with Susan Patten is offered throughout the year.
Next 8 Week Series will start Tuesday, December 5th through January 30th 7-8pm (no class 12/26) Cost is $108.

This class will include instruction in posture, breathing technique, and guided meditation.  Class will be based around the book "Mindfulness in Action: Making friends with yourself through meditation and everyday awareness" by Chogyam Trungpa.  There will be hand outs and audio recordings to help support your practice outside of class.  Beginners and seasoned meditators welcome.

To Register for the 8 Week Meditation Series:


Half Day Silent Meditation Retreat, Sunday November 19, 9am-12pm (Cost $30).  Coming together with a shared intention can have profound impacts on our lives, our communities, and our universe. Enjoy a special opportunity to spend a morning with others in silent meditation, deepening and expanding our awareness, and discovering possibilities that are not as easily accessible when meditating alone.

This event will be spent in silence, except for brief guided meditations, readings, and sharing of your experience.
The morning will include three, 45 minute meditations. 9-9:45 15 minute break, 10-10:45 15 minute break,
11-11:45 end with questions, feedback and tea. Please arrive a few minutes early to set up your sitting area.
Susan Patten, Lic Ac., has been meditating and studying with Vipassana teachers since 1988, and has been teaching and leading meditation classes since 2002.

In addition, students are welcome to use our beautiful meditation room located on the 2nd floor next to the main practice room before and after classes when the room is not being used.
