New to Yoga
What is Yoga at Roots to Wings? Yoga at Roots to Wings is about healing, learning to breathe properly, reducing stress, gradually increasing flexibility and range of movement and being around positive people who want to transform their lives. We offer over 30 classes and events each week and have an amazing group of teachers and healers ready to help you. Students of all ages and levels are welcome. You do not need to be in shape or good health to begin yoga.
We encourage practitioners learn to listen to, feel and respect their body. We encourage self-exploration and balance between effort and relaxation. Instructors help guide and support you with postures, proper alignment and use of props.
Which Class is Right for Me? Come to the class that works best for your schedule and don't worry about the names of the classes and we are here to help you have an awesome experience. We gear all of our classes to who is in the room. After your first class talk to the teacher about recommendations they may have for you.
First Visit? Come 10 minutes early. Bring a yoga mat, water, wear clothes you can move freely in, refrain from wearing perfume/cologne & be prepared to take off shoes & socks. Please turn your cell phone off.
If it is possible to avoid eating 2 hours before class, please do so. Mats can be borrowed and are also available for purchase. RTW has a full prop room and students are welcome & encouraged to use blocks, belts, blankets, eye pillows, bolsters, meditation cushions, and/or chairs for your comfort and physical needs. All classes unless otherwise noted are on a drop-in basis and there is no need to pre-register. New students will be asked to fill out a new student form and waiver. Please inform the instructor of any injuries or medical issues and inform the instructor if you are pregnant. In the event of inclement weather, please visit our website to find out if classes are cancelled.
