About Us

RTW is one of the pre-eminent yoga and healing centers north of Boston. Nestled on a serene acre of land and conveniently located near downtown Newburyport, MA, our 6,000-square-foot, purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility offers an environment intentionally designed for transformation, wellness, and community.

We offer in-person yoga, online yoga, meditation, acupuncture, massage, Reiki, energy healing, yoga therapy, and private yoga, along with some of the most comprehensive programming available outside renowned destinations like Kripalu, Omega, or Esalen. Our broad range of offerings supports healing, wellness, personal development, and the exploration of human potential.

If you’re looking primarily for six-pack abs and a beach body, we may not be your studio — though you will certainly grow stronger. Your balance will improve. Your breath will deepen. And the life energy within your body will move more freely.  We emphasize direct experience.  Our yoga focuses on helping people of all ages and physical conditions reconnect with simplicity, peace, healing, and contentment, all within a loving community of like-minded practitioners.

As part of our commitment to holistic health, we welcomed our friend and fellow yogini Dr. Risa Schulman, MD, and Figtree Family Medicine into our space in 2023. Figtree offers subscription-based direct primary care to the greater Newburyport community and beyond, expanding our collective vision of accessible wellness.

RTW is also deeply rooted in sacred music and kirtan, and we regularly host some of the most beloved artists in the devotional music world. Over the years, we’ve welcomed Dave Russell Kirtan, Charlie Braun, Carrie Grossman, John de Kadt, the Hanumen, Devadas, Shantala, Dave Stringer, Brenda McMorrow, Donna DeLory, David Newman, Irene Solea, Girish, and the Remembers, with incredible local backing artists.  Sacred music is a core part of our ethos and an essential expression of the community of love we want to grow at Roots to Wing and beyond.

Practicing with us is simple — just come at a time that works for you. No need to pre-register.
Drop-in classes are $25, though most new students start with our New Student Special: three weeks of unlimited yoga for $59. Once you’re settled in, we offer class cards and unlimited memberships. And beginning in 2026, we will introduce a comprehensive, all-inclusive yoga and wellness membership that bundles everything we offer into one extraordinary monthly package price.

Founded in 2004, RTW is one of the oldest yoga studios north of Boston. We began in Byfield and expanded into our current Newbury location in 2015, continuing to evolve while staying true to our mission: to support healing, awakening, and embodied living through practice, presence, and community

"RTW is a gathering place for seekers."
