Carol Gamble, Teacher
Carol Gamble is a Kripalu Yoga Teacher, with advanced 500 hour certification at the professional level, as well as a certified Yoga Therapist by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT).  She has over ten years teaching experience in gentle, moderate and restorative yoga.  After a long and successful career in health care and hospital laboratory services, most recently as Director of Laboratory Services at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, Carol has devoted herself to teaching yoga and studying the available evidence-based medical research in the healing practices of yoga, meditation and relaxation.

Her passion is working within the field of integrative medicine, combining her conventional health care background with her extensive knowledge of skills used in therapeutic yoga to serve the patients and providers within the local medical community. In 2014, Carol founded Graceful Path Yoga, LLC. whose main theme is compassionate self-awareness and self-acceptance as a means to healing.  She is a member of The International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT), Kripalu Yoga Teacher’s Association, and Yoga Alliance. She is also a practitioner of insight meditation and a trained meditation teacher. Carol has been an active member of the Insight Meditation Center of Newburyport for several years.  She believes that as we quiet the mind, we discover our true selves and can be gently guided on our own graceful healing path toward self-fulfillment and contentment with what is.

Recently, Carol was granted certification as a Yoga Therapist by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT).  Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and wellbeing, recognizing that the healing journey is unique to each person. Yoga therapists draw from the principles of yoga and the full range of yogic practices and assessment skills, as well as familiarity with biomedical and psychological foundational knowledge. Yoga therapists work with the client to develop and implement a self-empowering therapeutic plan appropriate to the client's needs and oriented around prevention and health promotion.

An IAYT-Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) has specialized training beyond that of a yoga teacher, and has qualifications in terms of education, knowledge, skills along with demonstrated experience in accordance with the IAYT’s Educational Standards for the Training of Yoga Therapists. IAYT-Certified Yoga Therapists adhere to the professional ethics, guidelines, and codes relating to the practice of yoga therapy as defined by the IAYT and commit to not making false or inaccurate claims about yoga’s therapeutic and healing capacities.

Carol holds a bachelor’s degree in medical technology and a masters’ degree in health services administration. As a community member she has been a member of Rotary International since 2002 and is currently a member of the Newburyport Rotary Club.

Carol is the mother of two grown sons, Zachary and Nathan, and is nana to two little boys and a lovely teenaged girl. She lives in Newburyport with her husband Alan and their black lab “Liberty” and tiger cat “Fluff”.

Carol is very excited about becoming a member of the RTW staff and is looking forward to the positive synergy and many possibilities ahead in our joint efforts.  She has expressed wholehearted agreement with and embraces the RTW mission to “spread greater health, peace and wellness to the community“, and its vision to “Benefit to all for a Better World.”
