Katherine Perrin is a forever student in the school of life. After chasing many of the should’s and suppose to’s of a corporate life, she exited left and has gratefully forged her own path. She has been practicing yoga for over twenty years and has been sharing it with others for thirteen. She completed her 200YTT at Kripalu, taught at RTW for over 10 years and is thrilled to be returning to the studio to share and receive.
Katherine believes life is her teacher. She has persisted in becoming familiar with and following her heart and out of these life experiences, she is clear that we are each a product of our environment/invironment and each of us has our own unique ‘interior design’. She feels privileged to support others in transforming their spaces and places so that they Dwell Well and come home to themselves. And… she has an uncanny ability to tell people about themselves through the energy and experience of their house.
Katherine is currently living in midcoast Maine and is sharing her passion and play in a studio she continues to transform. She has discovered sharing chair yoga with seniors, and welcoming them back home to their body, is one of her new found joys.
"I am so looking forward to returning to RTW and moving and breathing with new and familiar friends!!" -Katherine
Mardi Balcom completed her 200-hour yoga teacher certification through the Pranotthan School of Yoga with Jovinna Chan, hosted through Roots to Wings. Mardi believes yoga is the pathway to self-healing and inner peace. She began her yoga journey almost twenty years ago after the birth of her first daughter. She was looking for a way to “ease” back into a fitness routine and walked into a yoga class at the Fitness Factory with Chris Morton. From there she was hooked. She has practiced various styles of yoga over the last two decades, however, is drawn to the Kripalu style of meditation in motion as a way to ground and connect to deeper sense of self and spirit. She brings a calm presence to class and encourages her students to connect deeply to their breath and body. In addition to her teaching, Mardi worked at Brigham and Woman’s Hospital overseeing programming for survivors of trauma, violence and abuse. She has seen first-hand through her work the transformative power of yoga on healing and recovery. She lives in Newburyport with her husband, Brian, their daughters and dog Bailey.
