Yoga For Equestrians with Arleen Damon & Carol Gamble

Saturday, April 13, 2024 2-4pm; $40

Good riders of every discipline share many attributes, erect posture, balance, centered equilibrium, ease, strength, comfort, and grace. These competencies support their equine partner as well, softening control and developing rapport. There are lifetime benefits from a yoga practice for everyone, but particularly those who ride, care for, and love their Horses.

Yoga means “union”. It is a 5000 -yr. old system of wellness that teaches that to be in harmony with ourselves and our environment we must integrate the body, mind, and the spirit. Yoga practice, together with horsemanship bring desirable qualities for the rider and their equine partner. Examples are enhanced awareness, flexibility, balance, correct breathing, and rhythmic stillness.

Participants in this workshop will learn essential breathing techniques, basic yoga routines for pre-riding warmups, and post ride cool downs, balanced, centered riding principles* and how to be a conscious rider, “one with their horse.”

Please register in advance.  Bring a yoga mat and water if desired. All other supplies provided.  No prior yoga experience required.
