Children, Tween & Teen Yoga

Why Little Roots Yoga? Yoga offers children a chance to pause, relax and connect more deeply to themselves and the present moment.  We're helping children understand the mind-body connection, the power of taking a deep breath, postures to stretch and strengthen their body, and tools to calm and center themselves. Our classes are creative, nurturing and fun.  Our teachers bring combined training experiences from the top yoga programs in the country. We offer a healing style of yoga that embraces the whole child~ body, mind and spirit.

Our children’s classes provide innovative, creative, nurturing and fun educational experiences for children and young adults. Incorporating the principles and practices of Hatha Yoga, we engage the whole child, body, mind and spirit, to guide them in building greater self awareness and self confidence.

Through stretching and physical postures, children improve flexibility, strengthen their bodies, improve health and develop greater body awareness.  Through partner postures and group activities, children build social skills, a sense of community and respect for self and others. Through movement, music, drama and arts & crafts, children enhance their creativity and self-expression. Through meditation, breathwork and guided visualization children learn about the mind-body connection, improve emotional well-being and learn how to deeply relax. Through brain education and cognitive exercises, children improve focus, confidence and academic and social achievement.

Our Tween Classes help to create a healthy attitude of positivity, self-awareness and community – while also building confidence. Together we explore how yoga helps us to understand our body and mind balance.  We learn about yoga through the use of themes and practical life concepts such as kindness, gratitude and finding balance. Classes are designed to be accessible, FUN and to help students take their lessons off the matt and into their daily lives.

Roots to Wings offers a safe space for Teens to connect with their peers while learning tools that empower them to feel good in their bodies and minds.
