Carol Gamble, Yoga Therapy
Yoga therapy, is the adaptation of yoga methodology for people seeking to resolve or manage a health condition or problem.  Research shows that yoga and meditation can help cancer patients cope with their symptoms and the side effects of treatment such as anxiety, fatigue, insomnia and pain.  Strong evidence shows that yoga is effective as a therapy in relieving chronic low back pain.  Carol Gamble works with individuals of all ages with a variety of conditions and varying degrees of physical fitness, carefully selecting and modifying yoga postures, breathing techniques, guided meditation and relaxation practices to meet their therapeutic needs.  Carol uses different well-established techniques for measuring pain, anxiety, and depression, and the results have show notable improvements after only six sessions.  Her ultimate goal is to help clients sustain what they have learned and adopt a more healthy and balanced liefstyle going forward.

Carol Gamble, Yoga Therapist

Carol Gamble is a professional level Yoga Teacher (RYT), with advanced 500-hour certification from the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, as well as a credentialed Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

After a successful career in health care and hospital laboratory services, most recently as Director of Laboratory Services at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, Carol has devoted herself to teaching yoga and studying evidence-based medical research on the healing practices of yoga, meditation, and relaxation. She has nearly 15 years of experience teaching gentle, moderate, and restorative yoga, and is also a trained meditation teacher. In 2014, she founded Graceful Path Yoga, LLC to promote compassionate self-awareness and self-acceptance as paths to healing for individuals facing health challenges.

Her passion is working within the field of integrative medicine, which is healing-oriented and takes into account the whole person (body, mind, and spirit), including all aspects of lifestyle. Integrative medicine emphasizes the therapeutic relationship between provider and client and makes use of all appropriate therapies, including yoga therapy.

Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and wellbeing. Recognizing that the healing journey is unique to each person, yoga therapists draw from the principles of yoga and the full range of yogic practices and assessment skills to develop individualized therapeutic plans to meet each person’s needs.
