Inner Resource ~ Outer Resilience: iRest Yoga Nidra Meditation

a Yogic Sleep Workshop with Malú Doherty

Tuesday, July 30 7-9pm

“Resilience is our basic human capacity to meet, greet, welcome, and be transformed by all of the adversities we encounter throughout our life...” —Richard Miller, Developer of iRest® Meditation

iRest Yoga Nidra® is a type of meditation that promotes vibrant health, deep healing, and the potential to produce overall resilience. This research-driven practice has been shown to increase happiness, improve sleep, increase energy, and decrease stress, anxiety, and depression. Present day studies show that a regular meditation practice has many benefits including better brain health and stress management. Yoga nidra or, yogic sleep is a path of meditation that helps you build resilience to support you in your life.

This workshop begins with gentle restorative yoga poses then transitions into an iRest® yoga nidra practice. During which you’ll rest in a comfortable reclined position with props while being guided through an experience that includes progressive muscle relaxation and inner awareness. Everyone is welcome and no prior yoga or meditation experience is necessary.

All you need is YOU.

What is Yoga Nidra? - Yoga Nidra, aka Yogic Sleep is a style of meditation that allows the body to deeply relax while the mind stays inwardly alert and awake. The practitioner hovers between waking and sleeping states, between sensory awareness and a relaxed thoughtless state where the logical, analytical aspect of the mind is suspended. This alert state of deep relaxation establishes non reactive self awareness and  connection to the true self.
