The 40 Day Transformation is a gathering of amazing people, like you, who want to create true transformation in their lives by deepening their commitment to their yoga practice and expanding it to include meditation, food, and healing. This will be the 10th time we have offered this program.  If we truly want to change the things we see around us and our day to day experience in the world, then we must be train ourselves to see more clearly.  You wouldn't drive your car for a year without windshield wiper fluid would you? It might get hard to see.

The essence of the program is self-inquiry through practice.  We do yoga every day for 40 days either at home or in the studio, daily meditation, and a 5 day "Food Experiment".  We meet six weeks on Monday evenings from 7:15-9pm to listen, learn, practice new techniques, and share in community.  Each week is an "experiment" with an aspect of our yoga practice related to self-inquiry and personal transformation.  Guest presenters join us to help deepen our understanding and practice.  There is much, much more to yoga than doing the postures.
Yes we will learn to meditate, contemplate, breathe, move, and heal, but not so we can say we do them, but rather to experience how they do us.

1. What does the tuition include?

  • Unlimited Yoga classes at Roots to Wings (6 classes a week recommended.  Includes all regularly scheduled classes.  Does not include other series and/or workshops/events)
  • Weekly 1.75 hour gathering meetings, which include discussion and teachings on meditation, diet, and yoga
  • 40% off one 55 minute wellness session of your choice (reiki, massage, craniosacral, reflexology, therapeutic yoga, energy healing or private consultation on any aspect of the program you wish to explore more fully)
  • Email and social media updates on weekly themes and expectations
  • Access to RTW staff with any questions, concerns or challenges

2. How do I get started?

You can come to the intro talk or email us to get any questions answered. Or just start by registering and take a any of our scheduled classes and join us at the opening meeting.

3. Can you explain more about the diet component?  Is it really strict?

There are no strict rules but we offer guidelines for eating a more whole food based diet. This basically means eating foods in there natural state as much as possible.  We offer recommendations and a clear framework to look at your diet and approach change with consciousness. Each week will provide a new insight into eating and supplementary information to support it.  The first day is whole foods only followed by 3 days fruits and vegetables only.  We re-introduce whole foods during the last day of the fast. There will be lots of support and information on food, yoga, self-healing and meditation.  We also have guest speakers come in from Dr. Dan's Natural Healing to share their insights of nutrition and fasting.

4. If I miss 1 day have I blown the whole thing?

We all are making this commitment and as such need to make every effort to participate fully. But hey, stuff happens. Forgive yourself and move on! If you can't get to yoga, take a walk. There are many levels of participation and that varies from day to day sometimes.

5. Do I have to take all classes at RTW?

It is always easier and more insightful to do yoga with a live teacher - and we offer nearly 30 classes a week. With that said, this program starts out with 20 minutes of yoga a day. You can do it to a DVD, at home or in any studio.

6. Can you reverse a lifetime of unhealthy habits?

Yes - in 40 days!
