Exploring Chaturanga and Happy Shoulders

with Christina Gardner-Burns

Sunday, March 17th 1:30pm-3pm, Cost: $25

Chaturanga Dandasana, Four Limbed Staff Pose, a pose that is repeated throughout typical Vinyasa flow style classes. And, one that many yoga students “fly-by” to get it over with, and/or practice incorrectly - actually harming their shoulders in the process. In this class, you will learn how to safely perform Chaturanga Dandasana as a shoulder strengthening and opening pose. You will learn modifications to the pose, to further strengthen and open your shoulders - either preparing you for Chaturanga (should you be interested in exploring it in the future), or having safe & strong options for every day. In addition, we will be opening & strengthening the shoulders in a variety of releasing, restorative and active poses.

This class is intended for a yoga practitioner who is beyond the basics and is familiar with the Sun Salutes. This class will be more active.
