Yin Yoga Workshop with Joanne Travers

Yin Yoga is a type of yoga practice that aims to apply gentle to moderate pressure on targeted areas of the body. Longer gently held yin postures work dense and less dense connective tissues that bind, support and protect ligaments, bones, muscles and joints. Benefits are mental, physical and energetic.

This yin practice introduces postures that apply tension and compression in appropriate ways. It’s a great practice to learn and explore ‘your edge’.  How to modify and safely hold postures is explained.

A balanced and harmonized practice of Yin is intended to be complimentary to active exercise and yang yoga (more engaged or active flow). It enhances meridian and organ systems, vital for channeling energy through.

Joanne Travers is an 800 hour certified yoga teacher with over 2000 hours of teaching experience. She offers yin weekly at RTW on Wednesdays 11:00am-12:00pm starting September 7.
